Want to save money wherever you go?

Join the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and transportation partners from across the Commonwealth in celebrating the third annual, statewide Try Transit Week from September 20-24, 2010!

During Try Transit Week, Virginians are encouraged to stop driving alone and try one of the variety of transit options available such as bus and rail service, carpools, vanpools or telework.

Using transit is a great way to get wherever you need to go, and to save money along the way! Transit helps you save money through reduced car and fuel costs, and the more people who use transit, the less congestion there will be on the highways. That means the faster your trip will be!

If saving money and time aren’t enough, when you pledge to try a form of transit between September 20 - 24, 2010 you will be entered for a chance to win a year’s free pass to the transit service of your choice and two round-trip tickets on Amtrak Virginia!

So, whether you are a seasoned user or a first-timer, save money, save time – try transit!
